In modern Saudi Arabia, about 3km inland from the modern fishing port of al‑Khuraybah on the Gulf of Aqaba, a pair of ancient Nabatean sites occupy high ground to the northwest of the Wadi Aynuna. Most scholars agree that these sites are to be identified collectively with Leuke Kome, mentioned in Strabo and the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea; however, some other locations have been posited (see Gawlikowski 2022, note 5).
