Some modern scholarship (e.g., Tomaschek in RE) has therefore identified it with the modern Gogra (Ghaghara); however, Erdosy in BAtlas silently rejects this view, preferring to identify it as a distributary of the Ganges, the modern Garai (Gorai) in Bangladesh.
